50 Berkeley Street

50 Berkeley Street is a prestigious office block that occupies a location between Berkeley Square and Green Park tube station. The building comprises of three elevations which are all set on different streets, Mayfair Place, Stratton Street and Berkeley Street. Surrounded by high end restaurants and hotels, this part of Mayfair is often visited by celebrities. During the works it was common place to see the paparazzi outside the building.

Minerva Building Restoration Ltd were instructed as part of a cyclical maintenance programme to clean, repair, restore and redecorate the external facade of the building.

Scope of Works:

Scaffold erection to all elevations up to and including roof level. Due to large amount of scaffolding it was decided to carry out the works in two phases in order to minimise the disruption to the tenants and public.

A mason’s nebulous water clean of all the Portland stone facade was carried out outside of normal working hours.

All existing lead work on the building was cleaned and coated with a patination oil to extend the life of the lead. We also replaced a number of Westmoreland roof slates that were either missing or broken.

Portland stone repairs were carried out to the entire facade using Minerva Building Restoration mix of Portland ‘stone dust’ and cement approved by the Contract Administrator.

Contract Value: £110,000
