Challoner Court
Challoner Court is a 4-storey residential retirement home set in grounds along Bromley Road, close to Shortlands train station.
The fabric of the building is brick built with timber framed windows and doors originally stained in a dark mahogany, along with soffits and facias to match.
The 12-week external refurbishment project consisted of the following below:
Scope of Works:
- Full Doff clean to all brick facades and boundary walls.
- Brickwork replacements to all balcony tops plus masonry repairs
- A four-coat paint system applied to all joinery items.
- An overhaul of the main roofs and terrace roofs currently in concrete tile
- New soffits and facias in PVCU cladding to lift the overall look to the building.
- Replacement gutters in 7’ Deep flow with 110mm rainwater down pies to accommodate the large roof catchment areas.
- New external lighting including emergency fittings where required and, new balcony lanterns.
- A liquid anti-slip roofing system installed to all balcony floors with a 20-year guarantee
- The installation of 3 no Pod Point EV charging stations to the rear of the car park
- Full cleaning and improvements to the car park and paving
