Chartwell House

Set in the heart of Kensington, and housing 31 no retirement apartments this property was in need of a full external refurbishment programme. With the retirement apartments in full occupation during the works, site management and tenant liaison were of the utmost importance.

Minerva Building Restoration Ltd were instructed to fully erect scaffolding to all 4 no elevations at the site.

Upon erection of the scaffold all flat roof/patio areas outside the Penthouse apartments inclusive of all the external elevations were thoroughly inspected with defects scheduled then a document compiled and then forwarded on for client’s approval.

The existing asphalt roof terraces were found to be in poor repair with many fractures running through the asphalt and areas of slumping in evidence. It was deemed more cost effective to repair the asphalt and then overcoat with a premium liquid roofing system rather than a wholesale asphalt roof replacement scheme being undertaken.

Following the application of the liquid system all of the roof terraces were covered with an anti-slip lightweight slab.

The external stucco rendered elevations were fully repaired, timber windows were overhauled and repaired using Repaircare International Method. All previously painted masonry elevations and windows were decorated using the Dulux Weathershield system.
