Dudley House, The Strand, London

Dudley House, The Strand is a Grade II listed building in the bustling City of Westminster, London.

Minerva Building Restoration were instructed to carry out external refurbishment works.

Scope of Works

  1. Provide full scaffolding to access all elevations including roof, windows, gutters, rainwater pipes etc with a monitored alarm. Hoarding was erected to bottom of the scaffold.
  2. Cracked stonework was pinned back to existing brickwork using stainless steel pins which were resin anchored into position.
  3. Remove existing movement joint sealant and re-instate using Sika Hyflex 250 Façade and Sika surface primer in order to properly seal and make watertight the movement joint between the buildings.
  4. Thoroughly clean down all surfaces including all stonework.
  5. Decoration works to timber windows at the upper level, windows, metal frames and cills.
  6. Waterproof lining and counter flashing within the ledge gutters.
  7. Removed failing cementitious render back to brickwork and apply Weberpral monocouche

     scraped system.

  1. Supply and fit aluminium downpipes including removal of existing.
  2. A full time manager was supplied for the full duration of the project. This was to liaise with all tenants, building control and contractors. All works were completed to programme.
